Rob. Forberg Musikverlag

The Robert Forberg Music Publishing House was established in 1862, and due to it’s early cooperation with the Moscow publishing house Jurgenson, is one of the most important publishing houses for Russian 19th century music today.

The Robert Forberg Music Publishing House established it’s top reputation with publications from Mendessohn via Rheinberger to Richard Strauss. Stimulated through it’s close working relationship with the Moscow music publisher P. Jurgenson, who discovered Tschaikowsky amongst others, the supervision and development of Russian and East European music  - from Balakirew via Prokofjew to Kussewitzki – became one of the primary objectives of the publishers. Works such as the “Piano concert Nr. 1” from Prokofjew, “Le roi des Étoiles” by Stravinsky, countless piano works by Glière as well as Rimski-Korsakows “Der goldene Hahn” are still today highlights of the publisher’s catalogue. Not only that, but popular ballets, important works for contra bass repertoires, a good choice of Organ literature, practical publications for chamber music, as well as educational pamphlets can all be found in the catalogue. Rob. Forberg also represents and helps develop the publishing program for the Mannheim Music Publishing house (School of Mannheim 18th Century, as well as contemporary music).

The main focus of today’s edition:
